Amazing book full of practical ideas to put to work. Very easy read. I appreciated getting real life examples, it puts information in an easily digestible format. Temple brings the first hand experience and Dr. Debra brings decades of clinical insight. Together they make a great team. Now I’ve got some pushes to give.

Wonderful book filled with family stories and wisdom about the transition years for persons on the autism spectrum. I've tried for many years to explain to parents that they need to push their ASD offspring -- that people on the spectrum fear change and don't automatically seek independence they way most teens do. This is a highly readable book that I have recommended countless times in the past year.

I wish the author had included more about the struggles that these families and their young people have faced -- especially with regards to rude language, irritable behavior, and how to recover from setbacks. I'd have also included the number of times that these young people are told "no" or are misjudged. It would have made the book a more accurate reflection of this process.

Still reading. . .this book speaks of the importance of encouraging ASD people--which for most, can make the difference in whether or not he/she will be a functional adult. This book is more geared toward teens and young adults with ASD, but I am gaining a few useful tools for my preschooler. The stories and examples are good and very interesting to read.

This is an incredible book. I learned so much about kids on the spectrum. This book is very practical and easy to read - much like a guidebook. The recommendations provided can apply to any child and I believe that all parents should read it. But the best part of this book is the HOPE it gives by telling inspiring, real stories. Love it. A must read.

This was extremely helpful both in offering suggestions of how to prepare my 9 year old grandson for the teen years and at the same time affirming all that we have noticed about how he interacts with his world. We have given him the book to read to learn more about how he interacts people and what his challenges/strengths are. I will be very curious how he responds to it.

Simply Perfect. The Loving Push raises many important issues that parents and educators alike must consider when planning for the future of youth with ASD. I have worked with individuals with ASD for over 13 years and have been an advocate for many of the concerns that Dr. Debra Moore and Dr. Temple Grandin so beautiful explain for readers. I personally enjoyed the blend of research, personal experience, and case studies to emphasize the importance of promoting independence and stepping out of 'comfort zones' for the personal growth of individuals with ASD. I would recommend this book to individuals with ASD, parents, educators, and more. Individuals with ASD have the skills and desire to contribute positively to society, be self-sufficient, and feel what success is like and The Loving Push provides a light for all those individuals and families who strive for more.
